NAPLAN starts tomorrow for children in year 3, 5, 7 and 9. While I am not a fan of the testing, I have a child in year 3 and year 9 this year, so I want to make sure they are as prepared as possible and this starts with a nourishing breakfast.
Here are my top 5 nourishing breakfast ideas….
Natural New Age Mum’s Blueberry Breakfast Slice
Well Nourished Healthy Baked Pancakes
Healthy Chef’s Blueberry Coconut Stress Buster Smoothie
A huge range or “Royal Breakfast” ideas from the girls at Pink Farm – any of these would be perfect!
Of course, they need to be sustained during the day too, so here are my top 5 morning recess recipe ideas…
Brenda Janschek’s Apple Crumble Slice
Veggie Smugglers Cheese Puffs
Natural New Age Mum’s Nut-free Muesli Bars
Alexx Stuart’s Easy Cranberry Coconut Snack Bars
The Veggie Mama’s Blueberry Buckwheat Pikelets
And my top 5 lunch ideas….
Natural New Age Mum’s Zucchini Slice
The Healthy Foodie’s Egg Meat Muffins
Eat, Drink Paleo’s Salmon Fish Cakes
The Veggie Mama’s Vegetarian Sausage Rolls
Don’t get too hung up on making a whole bunch of new recipes
You could simply pop in a boiled egg, some veggie sticks, some hummus and an apple and that is totally awesome too!
The main thing to consider is that you don’t them on a sugar/refined carbohydrate roller coaster all day. Try to avoid additives and preservatives as well as these can cause headaches, stomach upsets and difficulty concentrating.
And don’t forget a bottle of plain water too! Kids need to stay hydrated.
Wishing you and your kids a fantastic week!
